Maison Martin Margiela Exhibition at Somerset House is definitely worth a peek. I have always loved this French label for it's fun factor.
The haute couture garments made from found objects - strands of cheap necklaces laced together to form a bejewelled top, broken china held together with wire in a waistcoat and cheap white elastic woven into a structural futuristic jacket.
Trompe l'oeil everywhere - photographic prints of a dress printed onto a dress, so clever. Jacket lapels and buttons created by indentations and ridges into the fabric and my favourite an all over skin tight body stocking with jean pockets and fly drawn on with a marker pen. Scarily effective. From now on I may stop buying clothes and just draw on the outfit I want to wear every morning.
