Christian Dior Couture SS11

Christian Dior Couture SS11 was a veritable bouquet. According to Style.com, Galliano's research for the collection came partly from studying real flowers over long periods to see how the colours changed in the light. This is reflected in the beautiful naturalistic shades of the dresses, the degradation of colours, the texture and the form. The tulip shape looks set for a comeback based on this show. Stephen Jones created the plastic headgear designed to emulate the plastic wrap of florist flowers the look completed with a raffia belt tied around the models waist. I love this whole concept, executed in such a explicit manner, the model as a bouquet of flowers.
