Tobacco Colour Chinos

Tobacco coloured chinos and a tan t-shirt, worn with a vintage floral scarf in complimentary shades and my granny shoes as my bf likes to call them. In fact my whole outfit is rather granny but I like that. I may have to wear something bit more sexy tomorrow to compensate! Chinos are from Zara, I'm still undecided about them as I think high waisted chinos are highly unflattering, tan coloured t-shirt from Topshop, granny shoes are vintage and so is the floral scarf.

Patchwork Maxi Dress

Patchwork maxi dress bought in Germany several years ago.

Bohemian Beaded Dress

Bohemian beaded dress also bought from TKMaxx this weekend on my foray into a summer wardrobe. It really reminds me of Antik Batik due to the lovely light floaty fabric and the beautiful beading along the front panel. Antik Batik, in case you don't know it, is a parisian bohemian label which I love but can rarely afford. To make it more 'me' I added this paisley scarf and a flower in my hair.

70s Maxi Dress

70s maxi dress bought from TKMaxx this weekend. This year I refused to go out and buy a new summer wardrobe after leaving the tags on so many summer styles the last few years and packing them away as October fell and it dawned on me that the sunshine really wasn't coming. The mini heatwave prompted me to reconsider. I love this dress for it's pucciesque print, it's wonderful shade of blue, the beautiful chain belt made of silver rings and the fact it reminds me a little of the Chanel resort collection. Also because my new favourite thing is 70s expect to see lots more 70s style clothing on my blog for the next few months or until I get bored and find something else I'm fascinated with.

Sonia Rykiel Resort Show SS11

Sonia Rykiel resort show SS11 is right up my street, as ever with Sonia Rykiel. I love the smart 70s vibe going on mixed with little bit of 40s. Tailoring seems to be a key feature so I think we may see a revival of the suit, accessories are the key to keeping this look fun, quirky and bang on trend. Especially love the little hats worn on the side of the head. Be brave and try one.

Cream Silk Shorts And Vintage Print T-Shirt

Cream Silk Shorts And Vintage Print T-Shirt, shorts from Zara, t-shirt from a vintage store in Paris about 4 years ago when I was feeling all inspired by Kate Moss who had wore something quite similar. I love this t-shirt, the print is nice and soft as if it's been washed a thousand times, which it may have been for all I know. The silk cream shorts are one of my wardrobe basics for the summer season as they're a classic and look nice and sophisticated worn with anything. Dress up with a silk vest for evening and dress down with a denim jacket for the day team.

Mulberry Neely Bag

Mulberry Neely Bag was alerted to me by todays Stylist magazine. Apparently available in slate grey which I think would look amazing but I also love this nude shade.

HP Butterfly Laptop

HP butterfly laptop - if it's good enough for SJP then it's good enough for me. The media and publicity storm has worked it's magic on consumers like me and I am now convinced that all other laptops and computers are far too ugly for me to blog about fashion on. It's a symbiotic kind of thing. Therefore I need a gold lap top with butterflies on, I just need to find £450 and my blogs will be as beautiful as the butterflies.

Monochrome - Blogged By Polka Dot

Jill Hayes of Polka Dot otherwise known as http://streetstylelondon.blogspot.com took my picture in work the other day for her blog.
Shirt from Zara and shorts coincidentally also from Zara, lace socks from H&M and patent brogues from Marks and Spencer of all places. I love that she appreciates my little touches like my grey nail varnish, it's the little things that pass others by, that differentiate her blog as she always notices. Check out the post!

Vintage Emporium - Brick Lane

Vintage Emporium just off Brick Lane on Bacon Street is my new favourite find. A tad more expensive than I usually pay but it is real silk, real vintage kinda place so it warrants the price tag. I found an absolutely beautiful 1920s peach silk dress there but at £110 I had to resist. I did however buy this beautiful coat for the bargain price of £30. I got so many compliments today wearing it! It is my new favourite addition to the wardrobe so much so that I would like to wear it every day. But I must be creative and think of a new outfit for tomorrow. Damn.
Worn with a vintage floral scarf from a charity shop and a dress from TKMaxx.
And for all those that have asked me to do them a vintage shopping guide for London, I'm working on it, sorry for the delay!

Bring Back The Supermodels

Grace Coddington

Just because I'm in love with Grace Coddington. The pool picture is her modelling back in the day and the second picture is model Karen Elson in an homage to Grace pictured wearing Grace's favoured style of clothing and surrounded by cats (because she loves cats).

Trompe L'oeil

Searching through Google images for Martin Margiela trompe l'oeil images I was shocked to find a picture of myself! Taken 3 years ago at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris it was blogged on the French newspaper L'express' street style blog with the following comment "a risky combination but successfully done". I myself am not so sure! My how much our taste changes in the space of 3 years.

Maison Martin Margiela - Somerset House

Maison Martin Margiela Exhibition at Somerset House is definitely worth a peek. I have always loved this French label for it's fun factor.
The haute couture garments made from found objects - strands of cheap necklaces laced together to form a bejewelled top, broken china held together with wire in a waistcoat and cheap white elastic woven into a structural futuristic jacket.
Trompe l'oeil everywhere - photographic prints of a dress printed onto a dress, so clever. Jacket lapels and buttons created by indentations and ridges into the fabric and my favourite an all over skin tight body stocking with jean pockets and fly drawn on with a marker pen. Scarily effective. From now on I may stop buying clothes and just draw on the outfit I want to wear every morning.

Miu Miu Studded Brogues - OMG

Miu Miu Studded Brogues have just jumped up to no.1 on my wishlist. What I would do....

Madonna Interview Magazine

Madonna interview magazine in the may publication. Doesn't she look incredible? She gets some bad press, mainly about her arms, but for me - someone who really believes that reincarnation is the key to longevity - Madonna is the master. Madonna and Kylie are stars that have succeeded well past their usual 'shelf life' due to the fact they reinvent themselves so often. Change your hair/wardrobe/lover, do it now, do it often and you too will live eternally. Maybe try botox as well just to be certain.

Alexander Wang

Just because it's cool. Image found through random googling. Amazing.

Miu Miu - Be Inspired

Miu Miu - check out their website for some beautiful images, a real source of inspiration.

ASOS Clog Boots - The Only Thing Worth Wearing

ASOS clog boots arrived.

The Hurlingham Club

The Hurlingham Club is oh so pretty and I wish I had taken my own photos but I took the battery out of my camera to charge and forgot to put it back in. As I mentioned below I went there today to watch the BNP Paribas Tennis Classic at Hurlingham. Tennis greats - pros and veterans put on an amazing show. Not knowing much about tennis myself I can only name drop in the hope it means something to you - David Ferrer, Robin Soderling, Pat Cash, Peter McNamara, Philippoussis and my favourite Mansour Bahrami. A charasmatic man who should have been in Hollywood films.
My thanks to Judy Tomline for the fantastic seats.
