Lilac Lipstick

Lilac lipstick is top of my want list this week. MAC seems to offer few lilacy shades but I think I need to go in store to really check the out, online shopping does have its downsides, a swatch isn't enough when it comes to lipstick. Any recommendations let me know.

Red Leopard Print Dress

Red leopard print dress with chain necklace detail bought in Zara sale worn with my star print converse. I needed some lipstick but red was too matchy so went for a shocking hot pink. Which may be my new favourite shade for the week.

Brigitte Bardot in Jean Luc Godards Le Mepris

Brigitte Bardot in Jean Luc Godards Le Mepris was my inspiration for the day. I went to see it last night showing at the Barbican as part of their 'nouvelle vague' showcase. The film was, at times, testing but the clothes captured my attention.

Vintage Black Dress

Vintage black dress one of favourite buys of the weekend, £12 from the Saturday vintage market in Hackney previoulsy held at the Empire and now 200m up the road at Anatolia Bar 253 Mare Street. It happened to look like a sack on the hanger but I knew it could see it's potential. Got a few other beauties that I will be showcasing this week :)

Ladylike - Jackie O Style

Ladylike - Jackie O style was my inspiration for the day, mixed in with a little bit of Grace Kelly for good measure. It's nice to get dressed up every once in awhile, I was just missing the elbow length gloves. Which by the way are a key accessory for this autumn winter. Invest now, boast later.

Hair Barettes Inspired By Prada

Hair barettes inspired by Prada resort show are my new obsession. This is the haul I got today...more to follow I'm sure. I am also totally loving the stacks of bright perspex bracelets, also seen on the Miu Miu Resort collection. Going to start saving my pennies for arm candy right now.

Creeper Shoes

Creeper shoes are back in fashion. I have felt drawn to them for awhile ever since seeing a pair in a Vogue shoot teamed with pretty dresses and they are now officially back. When Sonia Rykiel and Alexander Wang are selling them you know it's true. Do I be brave and buy myself a pair? I really think I should. Any tips on where to buy some would be appreciated, I don't have spare £1000 for the Sonia Rykiel versions unfortunately.

Julianne Moores Bvlgari Campaign for SS10 has made me want a lion cub so cute.

Black Tailoring

Black tailoring...the image is a bit severe...my bf obviously didn't feel in the mood to take lots of pictures of me on a Friday evening so I'm stuck with this. I do actually smile sometimes though. This sleeveless tailored 'waistcoat/gilet' from H&M is one of my favourite items in my wardrobe, you may have seen it a lot, I would like one in every colour. Worn with Zara black crepe shorts and my all star starry converse - obviously! Officially my new favourite shoes.

Bloomsbury Bowling

Bloomsbury bowling - admittedly not me best sartorial picture but I like to show you it all. I think the colour clash of my pink dress with the turquoise cardigan gave a bit of a 60s feel and of course I had to wear my all star starry converse for bowling! Am I the only person that likes bowling shoes?! I was slightly disappointed when they gave me these black ones, bring back the red/white/blue velcro versions. So cool.

Bookish/Librarian Trend

Bookish/Librarian trend seen at Paul & Joe, Marni, Prada and Margaret Howell distinguished by old fashioned looking woolens, ribbed socks and a pair of accessory specs. I tried working this look today with my pleated skirt, plain grey cardigan accessorised with a tan belt t waist, ankle socks and brogues. I really felt like I was a 24 year old wearing a school uniform though! And not even the somewhat sexy St Trinians kind. I would appreciate some feedback since I love the idea of this trend but I'm really not sure of the reality!

Ante Pinafore Dress

Ante pinafore dress worn with Ante nude silk blouse. Both made from masculine tailored styles, the shirt reconstructed and the pinafore dress taken from a mans suit jacket. My new favourite store, go and visit on Brick Lane Shoreditch.

Jean Paul Gaultier Couture AW10

Jean Paul Gaultier Couture AW10. One of my favourite things about this collection was the models. They made the show come alive and really showed a personality and gave the clothes character. The clothes are luxe evocative of a past era of glamour yet you can see how they could transport themselves into your every day. I have picked the pieces I can see myself wearing, might have missed some of the mot flamboyant pieces but since this blog is about my style these are the pieces I would choose to wear! xx
